250 St Vincent Street Glasgow

Extensive internal refurbishment works to grade B listed building located in the heart of Glasgow’s bustling commercial centre.

250 St Vincent Street provides a high quality office space behind an original retained Grade B listed façade designed by James Thomson and built in circa 1882. Following life as the Windsor Hotel, the inside was completely remodelled in 1987/88 to provide a fully contemporary interior. Cosmos Projects were instructed by Summers Inman, following a competitive tender process, to undertake extensive internal refurbishment works to the building.

Work included refurbishment of the main stairwell on all floors; supply and installation of feature furnishings in the lower ground level reception; structural infill of floor to void within the atrium which included closing off the atrium and installing new feature reception desk on top; wall and floor finishes, ceilings and lighting; work to rear internal disabled access ramp and doors; and conversion of an existing open atrium into a staff bike store on the basement level.

Integrated Management Systems

Cosmos Projects Ltd recognises that quality, health, safety and environmental matters are key to maintaining customer satisfaction and we recognise our role in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for both our customers and our employees.

Avison Young have worked closely with Cosmos Projects on various types of contracts for over seven years now.

Both our clients and our in-house Avison Young Building Consultancy team are happy with the Cosmos Projects team’s project management skills and with their general approach and quality achieved on each project.

Recent projects carried out on our behalf for the University of St Andrews have involved multi-disciplinary trades on challenging sites which regularly remain occupied during the works. These works are always carried out to a high standard, on time and with minimal disruption to our clients and to the building occupiers.

We remain very happy to consider Cosmos Projects for future work. What is very helpful to Avison Young is the excellent estimating and also the post contract QS input from Cosmos which makes cost management very simple to manage for us in any contract administration roles.

Murray Watson — Director, Avison Young

Planet Decorators recently completed taping and decoration works at our second floor office refurbishment project in Castle Terrace, Edinburgh. Our client was absolutely delighted with the quality of the finished job. We look forward to working with John and his team again on future projects.

Marcus Roy - Project Manager, Woodhouse Contracts Ltd

We are delighted with our experience of working with Cosmos Projects over the duration of recent projects. We have found Cosmos Project’s team to be refreshingly co-operative and attentive and have a solution-based approach on their outlook to projects. Having worked previously with the management staff, this, we feel assisted with a team approach. Under the direction of Chris McNeill, Cosmos Projects bring a level of client side understanding that, we feel, sets them apart from others, and makes them a contractor of choice when considering tender lists. We would have no hesitation in recommending Cosmos Projects.

Craig Murdoch — Director of Surveying, Ramsay McMichael Consulting Ltd

I worked with Cosmos on the internal and external refurbishment of a Grade ‘B’ listed townhouse in Glasgow city centre. The work included extensive internal improvements to services and finishes to provide speculative office space for let. We collaborated with Cosmos following a competitive tender process and value engineered the project scope and specification in line with our client’s budget requirements.
